Continuing SED’s involvement in NASPA – Student Affairs Administrators in Higher Education, and its Emerging Faculty Leader Academy, Dr. Raul Fernandez has recently been selected to participate in the 2018-2019 class of the EFLA.
The one-year program is designed for faculty leaders in higher education, and offers “professional development and educational sessions in order to gain additional knowledge and skills about being a leader as a faculty member.” It will provide both online and in-person sessions to the seven participants from across the world over the course of the next year. Focus points will include “teaching strategies and curriculum development, resources to deal with issues of tenure, merit and performance, and serving within professional associations such as NASPA.”
For the past 100 years, NASPA has been a leading association in the sustainability and improvement of student affairs administrators in higher education. With one faculty member chosen per region – seven total – Dr. Fernandez will be representing Region 1, covering all of New England, eastern Canada, and western Europe.
