Speakers from the Greater Boston Community will come together in community with SED to highlight experiences and thoughts on the ongoing crisis in Puerto Rico, how the history of colonization and oppression affects the current state, how we support Puerto Rican communities in Boston, and ways forward as we seek to position ourselves, as a community of learners and practitioners, in more genuine solidarity with Puerto Rico and families on the frontlines of this terrible crisis. The discussants are all activists and service providers from the greater Boston area who have put forth efforts to provide support to the rehabilitation of Puerto Rico, provide care for families who have come to Boston, and create support structures for students who are entering Boston Public Schools. This event will act as a lively discussion between the panelists and the audience, building our awareness to the issues that have primary and secondary influences on our personal, social, and professional lives.
