Partner Programs at Wheelock

Boston University Wheelock College of Education & Human Development (Wheelock) has been the university partner for Teach for America (TFA) Massachusetts since 2009. This partnership is based on a shared commitment to increasing equity in urban education. Wheelock supports TFA Corps Members through strategic and comprehensive professional development, coursework, and reflection. TFA Corps Members add to their classmates’ diverse experiences and perspectives, by bringing their daily teaching experiences to the Wheelock classroom. This reciprocal exchange of ideas between TFA Corps Members and the Wheelock community enhances both groups’ efforts to produce transformational educators.  In 2016, Wheelock expanded its partnership with TFA to include benefits for Corps Members, Alumni, and full-time Staff nation-wide.

Based on its positive experience with Teach for America, Wheelock has also partnered with a number of organizations and independent/charter schools. Wheelock works with the organizations to provide professional development coursework to enhance their work as educators. Current partners include:
