The Schools and College page (linked from the BU home page), is the most visited page at BU. This academic family of pages has been redesigned and now adheres to the BU Core Design. Content is formatted in two columns, making the pages more compact and easier to browse. The navigation across these pages is now more prominent, which should increase traffic to all sites listed. However, the improvements go beyond a new look. The site contains over 70 new links to departments, programs, centers, institutes, and journals that were uncovered during a thorough search of the BU Web. Elsewhere on these pages, department names and existing links were updated. The pages also link to important related departments and services, such as the Provost’s Office and CourseInfo. Finally, over 100 academic sites now receive random "top billing" on these high-traffic pages. Each page contains eight images at the top, taken from various academic sites. The images load randomly and link directly to their respective sites. With all of these improvements in place, visitors will more easily find the academic department that they are looking for. You can view the summary of changes made to the Academic pages.
