rule

Description

WebCT helps faculty build, conduct, and manage courses on the Web. Instructors can use its file-sharing and publishing tools to make their course materials more accessible to students. Its communication tools can increase students' involvement with the materials and encourage student interaction outside the classroom.

In this class, you will build a WebCT site. You will also practice using communication tools such as a bulletin board, chat, and group e-mail. You will learn about user accounts and how to request a class roster online. Last but not least, you will learn where to get help and answers to questions you have about WebCT as you work on your site in the future.

Benefits

After completing this class, you will be able to:

  1. Log into and navigate through your course site.
  2. Communicate with your students using WebCT's tools.
  3. Identify and prepare the materials you want to publish.
  4. Organize your course so students can use it easily.
  5. Add your course materials in the most appropriate format.
  6. Understand how user accounts work and perform basic user management.

Prerequisites

HTML: Introduction or equivalent knowledge. In addition, you should have already requested space in WebCT.
