2-hour lecture, demonstration, and hands-on practice
·Limited to 16
·Registration required
Description
You can better understand your web site's users with survey data.
Learn to format your surveys so that the gathered data can be easily
imported into a spreadsheet program, such as Excel.
In this class, you will learn how to create surveys that result
in data you can analyze with a spreadsheet or other external program.
If you are a faculty member using CourseInfo or WebCT, you will
find that analyzing survey data in this format gives you more flexibility.
You will learn how to use formlogin, which is a script that secures
the form and fills in selected information about BU users automatically.
You can view the course
outline and course
materials online.
Benefits
After completing this class, you will be able to:
- modify a form so that it writes the form data to a file that
you specify.
- format that output file so it can easily be opened in Excel
or other spreadsheet programs.
- use formlogin to restrict access to a form.
- use formlogin to fill in selected fields with information about
BU users automatically.
- specify whether the form user should receive an e-mail response
in addition to the normal form response.
Prerequisites
Forms: Introduction (or equivalent knowledge). An account
on people.bu.edu, or access to a site on www.bu.edu,
