Description

Most pages on the Web are formatted in a special code called HyperText Markup Language, or HTML. Every person producing content for the Web should be familiar with the basics of HTML. Even if you are using a powerful HTML editor, such as Dreamweaver, troubleshooting is easier if you understand the HTML code.

In this class, you will learn how to create and modify a basic HTML document. You will learn to use formatting tags, link to other documents, preview documents, and put them on a web server. For a complete description of topics covered, see the course outline. You can also view the entire course materials online.

Benefits

After completing this class, you will be able to:

  1. recognize the characteristics of a web page.
  2. understand the basic syntax of HTML tags.
  3. format text and layout using HTML tags.
  4. create links to other documents and images.
  5. insert images in a web page.
  6. preview an unpublished web page in a web browser.
  7. upload a web page to a web server.
