Description

Get rid of bulky, expensive, traditional course packets and replace them with online materials. Using CourseInfo to distribute reading and other materials electronically is more efficient. Students can access their materials online from anywhere, at any time.

In this class, you will learn how to comply with the Fair Use guidelines for creating online course packets. You will also learn how to locate sources for electronic documents and use BU's convenient facilities for converting paper documents into electronic form. You can view the course materials online.

Benefits

After completing this class, you will be able to:

  1. Follow the Fair Use guidelines to choose your course packet material.
  2. Locate sources for electronic versions of academic journals and books.
  3. Identify the advantages and disadvantages of uploading materials versus linking to external sites.
  4. Upload materials to your CourseInfo site and create links to external sites.
  5. Create Acrobat (.pdf) files from paper documents using the HP Digital Sender.
  6. Advise students on how to access and print the online course packets.

Prerequisites

CourseInfo for Faculty: Quick Start or experience using CourseInfo. HTML: Introduction or equivalent knowledge. In addition, you should have already requested space in CourseInfo.
