Set Up The Encoding System

  1. Connect the audio and video feeds. These will be coming from either a camera or mixing board, depending on how you are producing the webcast.

  2. Start the Producer Plus software by clicking the start button. Check the audio level (indicators should be in bright green, occasional red but not peaking solid red). Adjust if needed by either using the mixer (if you have one) or the system sound volume.

  3. Check the video for brightness. Adjust if needed by going to Options | Video capture settings | Video source | Video settings.

  4. If there's no video, make sure you have selected the correct source (S-video vs. Composite). If there's no audio, make sure the line in is plugged into the mic port completely.

  5. After you've webcast a minute or two, stop the encoder and play the test file locally. Pay particular attention to the audio quality.
