Are you hosting an event on campus? If you webcast it, the world can
attend. BU has webcast many events, including:
Commencement
2001
video with navigation links - 1 hour 59 minutes
School of Management Finance2000
lecture
video with slides and navigation links - 54 minutes
The
Great Debate
video - 1 hour 59 minutes
Center
for Psychiatric Rehabilitation lecture
video - 1 hour 6 minutes
Food
for Thought talk
audio - 48 minutes
The first 4 examples above were webcast live. You can view them
now, because we permanently archive all live webcasts. Some events,
such as the Food for Thought, are recorded, but not webcast live.
They were put on the Web after the event. We permanently archive
these, too.
A webcast of an event is not a replacement to being in the audience.
It is not a replacement for watching the event on television or
listening to it on the radio.
However, it is a way to include everyone who could not attend
in person, and it is a way to disseminate information globally in
a manner that would be impractical or impossible to do through print,
television, or radio.
When you begin planning your next event, you should consider a
live webcast and begin planning for it from the start.
