Clear your browser cache
In Blackboard Vista, sometimes it is necessary to clear out your browser's cache. Please select your browser below and follow the instructions provided.
Select your Browser
Internet Explorer 6
- Launch Internet Explorer from your desktop or start menu.
- Click "Tools" from the browser's main menu.
- Click "Internet Options", the last item in the list.

- Click the "General" tab.
- In the Temporary Internet Files section click the "Delete Files..." button.

- In the window that appears, ensure that "Delete all offline content" check box is checked and click OK.

- In the Temporary Internet Files section (step #5) click the "Delete Cookies..." button.
- In the window that appears, click OK.

- Close out the Internet Explorer 6 Options window from step #5 above.
Internet Explorer 7
- Launch Internet Explorer from your desktop or start menu.
- Click "Tools" from the browser's main menu.
(IE7 and IE8 users can also find the "Tools" menu item to the right of the "Home" icon)
- Click "Internet Options", the last item in the list.

- Click the "General" tab.
- In the Browsing History section click the "Delete..." button.
- In the Temporary Internet Files section, click the "Delete files..." button. In the Cookies section click the "Delete cookies..." button.

- Click "Close" to close this window and then click "OK" to close out the Internet Explorer 7 Options window from step #5.
Internet Explorer 8
- Launch Internet Explorer from your desktop or start menu.
- Click "Tools" from the browser's main menu.
(IE7 and IE8 users can also find the "Tools" menu item to the right of the "Home" icon)
- Click "Internet Options", the last item in the list.

- Click the "General" tab.
- In the Browsing History section click the "Delete..." button.
- Check the "Temporary Internet Files" and "Cookies" check boxes and then click the "Delete" button. If the Boston University Vista home page is saved as one of your Favorites, you will need to either remove it from your Favorites list or clear the check box labeled "Preserve Favorites website data".

- Click "OK" to close out the Internet Explorer 8 Options window from step #5.
Firefox 3.0
- Launch Firefox from your desktop or start menu.
- Click "Tools" from the browser's main menu.
- Click "Clear Private Data... "

- In the window that appears ensure that the "Cache", "Cookies", "Offline Website Data" and "Authenticated Sessions" check boxes are checked.

- Click the "Clear Private Data Now" button.
