Make your site searchable

Avoid creating entire sites in Flash, frames, or dynamically generated pages. You can use the host report to see which spiders have visited your site. Note that overall, the biggest referrers are Yahoo, Google, and Inktomi (in use at such sites as CNET, MSN and AOL). Google offers a quick way to find out how many other sites are linking to yours.

Search spiders have a huge task, indexing billions of web pages. Some work more quickly than others, so it's possible that your site won't be spidered every month by all of them.
