Work toward quantity

Quantity means comprehensive coverage of your site's topics. Your goal is to have your site be the authority on its subject, and once the visitor is there, be extensive enough to answer all the visitor's needs.

As you continue to add content to your site, it's important to keep pages focused. So, break long pages containing multiple topics into several shorter pages cover single topics. This helps in two ways: it reduces the amount of scrolling that visitors have to to read your content, and you have more pages to be listed in the search engines. Also, the relevance of key words for those particular pages increases.

Another suggestion when adding content is to incorporate both general and specific key words into the text on your pages. By doing so, you're more likely to match users' search terms.

If you are putting content into .pdf format, be sure to create searchable .pdf files. If you have non-searchable .pdf files, provide a sentence or two describing their content, including the most important keywords people would use to search for that content.
