Why use RSS?

For Reading News

With so many sources of information on the Web, it can be time-consuming to visit numberous websites to read the latest news. With news feeds, you can view the latest news from your favorite sites all in one place. Each news feed links to the website from which it came, so you can click to go to the original source when you want. Simply put, RSS and news aggregators give you more control over how you read information on the Web.

For Publishing News

If you are a web publisher, you can increase traffic to your site by publishing news feeds with RSS. Your site's visitors can subscribe to your feeds, increasing the chance that they will visit your site more often. If the news feeds you produce are high quality, your site's visitors may publish your feeds on their own sites, increasing your site's visibility on the Web.
