Using a Web Browser to Read RSS

If you do not want to use a separate application such as a news aggregator to read news feeds, you can use one of the following browsers:

Firefox logo Starting with version 1.5, Firefox uses Live Bookmarks to help you keep track of sites that publish news.
Safari logo The version of Safari that comes with OS 10.4 (Tiger) allows you to bookmark news feeds and also informs you when they have been updated.
Opera logo The now-free Opera browser features RSS integration in its Mail tool.
Internet Explorer logo Internet Explorer 7 allows you to subscribe to a news feed by simply browsing to a web page.

RSS Plugins for Browsers

Plugins are available to make it easier to read RSS feeds in browsers such as Internet Explorer 6, which is not RSS-enabled. Two such plugins are:

Pluck logo For Internet Explorer or Firefox. Also offers a web-based aggregator.
Sage logo For Firefox.
