Overview
Because you want to serve only the releases relevant to your school or college and moreover you want to use your design, you will need to setup your site to interface with the News Releases System.
You should follow this tutorial if you are the designer of the website of a school or college who wants visitors to your site to have access to your news from within your site. Following these steps will also make the appropriate templates the News Releases System uses to display your design, which also allows faculty of your school or college to create links to articles they want to highlight in their homepages, but utilizing the customized look of your school's page.
The News Release System allows you to choose how and what you display on your site, through the coding of simple snippets of HTML code that you include in your pages. You do not need to how how to write PHP code or how to interface with the database directly. All you will need to do either parse links that tell the Content Management System how to serve news releases to your visitors or parse a simple line of HTML code that will embed dynamic news content into your already existing pages.
As mentioned, there are two ways you can incorporate news releases into your site, either by means of links that point to PHP scripts which generate lists of news releases, or by means of embedded content within a section, table, or sidebar on your site. To incorporate both these methods, you must first follow the four steps below that are common to both processes, entitled News in Your Site in the navigational bar, since you need to host these templates to display news content with the look and feel of your site.
Once you have completed these steps, follow the instructions given in either the Learning pages for Embedding the News or Linking to the News to bring news content to the visitors of your school's site.
