Launching Your Site

If you have any questions about how to improve your site's content or code after taking this course, you can request help with that before you upload your files. You also can request help at any time during the launch process.

After you have launched your site, you should publicize the site if it is a new site or has been significantly redesigned. Two areas on the BU Web where you might want to publicize your site are What's New and Features.

If you are launching a new site, let NIS know so that we can be sure your site is indexed in BU Google. If you are re-launching an existing site, BU Google will find your site updates automatically. You do not need to submit it for re-indexing.

While you are free to submit your site to any search engines outside of the BU Web at anytime, you do not need to do so. The BU Web is crawled regularly by the major search engines and new sites often show up in search results within a week or two.
