Posting a New Topic

To post a new topic to a forum, first browse to the forum. Posting etiquette dictates that you should check the forum for an existing topic to reply to rather than creating a new topic. If there's not an existing topic that's appropriate, click the New Topic button on the upper left or bottom left of the page.

That will take you either to a login page (if you haven't already logged in) or to the "Post a new topic" page. The most important parts of this page are the Subject and Message Body fields and the Preview and Submit buttons.

Subject and Message Body Fields Subject and Message Body Fields

Fill in the subject to your message into the Subject field. This should be a concise description of what your post will be about. Then write your post into the Message Body field.

Look below the options for polls (we'll get to them later) and you'll find the button to Preview. Clicking that button will show you what your post will look like once it is submitted. This is especially important if you're using any of the formatting we'll discuss later.

Spell Check, Preview, and Submit Buttons Spell Check, Preview, and Submit Buttons

You can Preview as many times as you would like before submitting your post. Once you're satisfied click Submit and your post will be added to the forum.
