Timeline

The timeline controls the flow of your movie. It's divided into frames which are numbered from 1 onward in sequence. Each frame is represented by a rectangle, and to make it easier to work with increments of frames each fifth frame is gray.

There are two types: keyframes and normal frames. Keyframes are a special type of frame: one where changes in animation occur. They are identified by a small circle within the frame. A keyframe can be blank, indicated by an empty circle.

The playhead, the other important component of the Timeline, consists of a red rectangle and position marker. The playhead moves along the timeline in sync with your animation or movie.
