Overview

Flash is a tool for creating a wide range of applications– from simple animations to sophisticated data interfaces and interactive learning environments.

This tutorial will introduce you to the Flash environment, its capabilities, and interface. Then, we'll cover simple animation techniques, and how to publish your Flash movie to the web.

To start, download the file practice.fla and open it on your computer:

  1. Right-click on the filename below:

    practice.fla

    clock.fla
    clock-final.fla

    snowing.fla
    snowing-final.fla

    sailing.fla
    sailing-final.fla

  2. Select Save Target As... from the menu

  3. Save practice.fla to your desktop

  4. Double-click on the practice.fla file on your desktop to launch Flash MX
