Flowerpot

Highlight the first layer. Double-click to change its name to flowerpot-front.

Drag a copy of the flowerpot symbol from the library onto the stage. Position it near the bottom and center of the stage.

Click on the flowerpot and select Modify | Break Apart from the menu.

Highlight the purple interior and the back edge. Select Edit | Copy

Click on the New Layer icon to add a new layer. Select Edit | Paste in Place.

Hide the flowerpot-front layer to make sure your paste worked. If it did, you'll see only the purple interior and back edge of the flowerpot on the new layer.

Highlight the new layer and double-click to change its name to flowerpot-back.

Highlight the flowerpot-front layer. The areas you selected should still be selected. Choose Edit | Cut to remove them.

Drag the flowerpot-back layer to be at the bottom of the layer list.

The flowerpot graphic will be constant throughout the movie. Since the movie is going to be 35 frames long, we can add those frames to each of the flowerpot layers. Select frame 35 in both layers by holding the Shift key and clicking on frame 35 in each layer's timeline. From the menu, choose Insert | Frame.

The end result should look like this:
