Download the file practice.fla below by right-clicking with the mouse and selecting Save Target As... from the menu. Save it to your desktop so you can find it easily.

Double-click on the file's icon on your desktop to launch Flash. Make sure Flash is open to full screen.

Click on the stage and in the Property Inspector set the document dimensions to 450 pixels wide and 590 pixels high.

Select Window| Library. You'll see this set of symbols:

You're now ready to begin working on the movie.
