Setting the properties for our first slice

We will set the properties for our first slice ('About') like this:

  • Type: Image
  • URL: ../about/index.html
This URL gives the directive to go one level up ../ points and then to the index.html file in the about folder
  • <alt>: About
  • Target: None
  • Slice Name:
    l2-about

Let's talk a bit about the naming conventions. For this tutorial we will name all the slices that reside in a page other than the front page of the site as "level 2".
The abbreviation is l2-

If the slice is above a navigational element the beginning of the label or let's say the keyword is added. Therefore for our navigational element we select:

l2-about

Here's a full list for your convenience for the URL's, <alt>, and slice name:

Label URL <alt> slice name
About ../about/index.html About l2-about
Courses ../courses/index.html Courses l2-courses
Faculty ../faculty/index.html Faculty l2-faculty
Programs ../programs/index.html Programs l2-programs
Contact ../contact/index.html Contact l2-contact

HANDS ON:
Set the properties for all the slices as described above.
