Prerequisites: Fireworks: Introduction
(or equivalent knowledge).
2 hours ( 65 minutes lecture, 50 minutes hands-on exercises, 5-minute break)

- Fireworks bitmap mode
- Sizing and resampling considerations
Hands-on exercise (2 min)
- Download and save the images we will work with.
- Marquee tools
- Creating floating pixel selections
Hands-on exercise (6 min)
- Open up the image of the flower (Vinca.jpg).
- Experiment with the different selection methods.
- Sizing images
- Cropping
Hands-on exercise (7 min)
- Resize the flower image.
- Experiment with the cropping tool.
- Drawing in bitmap mode
- Cloning, erasing, color replacing
- Stacking considerations
Hands-on exercise (10 min)
- Play around with the various tools.
- Use the rubber stamp tool to clean up some imperfections in the image of
the flower.

- Open the image of the butterfly.
- Experiment with the different filters and live effects that Fireworks offers.
- Creating a mask

- Open the image of Thomas Edison.
- Apply a vector mask.
- Apply a bitmap mask.
- Create a text mask.
- Scanning images into Fireworks
- Taking digital picture
