The Export dialog

Export Dialog

The first thing to determine is where you want to save (1) the exported files. This location is the folder in the Web site to which you want to send the files. Please note that the location means different things depending upon your export choice.

When you just export images (3), as in the above example, the location stands for the actual folder the images will reside in. If your choice is images and HTML, then you will be able to specify a different location for the images and the HTML. In the type selection (3) more options are available, such as exporting to Dreamweaver library item. The filename (2) then will be the HTML file and the location corresponding to it.

The Options for HTML export (4) are to save the HTML in a file or to copy it to the clipboard. You can also turn off the slices (7) and export the entire area as one graphic. If the slices are turned on remember that Fireworks will create the names or part of the names for the exported graphics itself. You can set these options with the export options (6) dialog box. Another choice offered is to export the current frame only (8).

HANDS ON:
Create a graphical headline and export it to GIF or JPEG.
