Creating a Library Item

To create a library item, simply highlight any portion of your document, go to the Assets tab in the Files panel, click the library icon, and select New Library Item from the fly-out menu. The library item will become highlighted in your document, and a new item will be added to your library menu. You can name the library item by typing a name into the name field next to the icon in the library menu.

That's all there is to creating a library item. Now when you want to use that item, you can just open your assets palette, click on the icon next to the library item name, and drag and drop it into your document where you would like to insert it. It really is that easy! If you are uncomfortable with the drag-and-drop approach, you can simply place your cursor on the page where you would like to insert the item, highlight the item in your library palette, and click the Insert button.

You can also see a preview of your library items if you highlight the item in the assets menu and view the preview window directly above the menu list. The screenshot above shows the "page signature" section of our practice site saved as a library item. Note the listing for "page signature" in the list of library items, and you can see the preview of the text included in the library item in the preview area above the list.
