Design Notes
Design Notes are an excellent resource in Dreamweaver
to help Web developers collaborate and communicate with other members
of the Web staff (or just to make notes to yourself). Dreamweaver
stores Design Notes in a separate file, so the notes do not appear
in your Web documents.
Using Design Notes, you can set the status of a document
(revision, draft, needs work, etc.) as well as make documents, track
the date of editing changes, and a host of other options. You can
also select a check box to force the Design Note to open automatically
if you have a note that must be read by the next person who accesses
a specific document.
Access the Design Notes for any individual document
by using the "File" pull-down menu and click on "Design
Notes" to open the following dialog box.

You can also determine which files on your site have
Design Notes attached to them by right clicking on the page in the Site
Management window and choosing Design Notes..

To set your design notes to display in the Site View, go to "Site", "Manage Sites" and edit your site definition. Select "File View Columns", "Notes" and make sure that the "Show" checkbox has been selected. Select "OK" and exit from the menus; any design notes should now display next to file names.
