  1. Define a connection to your practice site.
  2. Download practice files from your site.

File and Directory Management (15 minutes)

  1. Overview

  5. Copying files and folders
  6. Moving files and folder

Hands On: Managing files and directories (10 minutes)

  1. Create a new file using each of Dreamweaver's three methods.
  2. Copy a file using each of Dreamweaver's three methods.
  3. Move a file using the drag-and-drop method.
  4. Rename a file using each of Dreamweaver's three methods.
  5. Delete a file using each of Dreamweaver's three methods.
  6. Create a new folder using each of Dreamweaver's two methods.
  7. Copy a folder using each of Dreamweaver's two methods.
  8. Rename a folder using each of Dreamweaver's two methods.

Using Design Notes (5 minutes)

Hands-on exercise: Workflow and Code Reports (5 minutes)

  1. Run a report to show any design notes in your practice site
  2. Run a report to search for untitled documents and missing Alt text
  3. Run a report to search for redundant, combinable, and empty tags

  1. Selecting browsers to check code against
  2. Running and reviewing reports

Hands On: Checking target browsers (5 minutes)

  1. Configure and run the Check Target Browsers report
  2. Analyze report resuls.

Find and Replace (10 minutes)

  1. Introduction
  2. Selecting files to search
  3. Specifying options for searching your files
  4. Previewing your results
  5. Saving and retrieving your searches for later use
  6. Searching with regular expressions

Hands On: Find and Replace (5 minutes)

  1. Find and replace text in files in the practice site.
  2. Find and replace source code in files in the practice site.
  3. Save a find and replace function and retrieve it to run on another document.

Hands On: Synchronizing and Reviewing Your Site (10 minutes)

  1. Close and save files.
  2. Synchronize your site.
  3. Review published work online using a web browser.
