Tables for Tabular Data

If you ever used tables in a Web document and manually edited the code for those tables, you know complex tables can be challenging. The good news is that Dreamweaver makes table creation and editing very easy.

Let's begin with inserting a single table. Place the cursor in your document where you plan to insert a table and click the insert table icon in the objects palette. Dreamweaver will display a dialog box to customize your table:

Select the number of rows (horizontal elements) and columns (vertical elements) you would like in your table. You can specify the width of your table in percentages or pixels. Border, cell padding, and cell spacing can also be selected in this dialog box. All of these options are measured in screen pixels.

The dialog box above will, for example, will insert a table in your document that looks like this:
