Downloading an Existing Site

Many of you already help to manage existing web sites and will be interested in importing an existing site into Dreamweaver. This is a fairly easy process. Follow the steps to create a new site in Dreamweaver on your local hard drive. Use the FTP connection information for the existing site you want to import.

When you have the site set up, make sure you are working in your site management window and click the Connect button to logon to the web server. You will get a list of files and folders in the left window that are now located on the web server.

Make sure you local folder (in the right-side panel) is open and you are located in the folder on your local drive where you plan to import your site.

Now you simply highlight all the files and folders on the web server (in the left-side panel) and click the Get button . This will get all your files for you, downloading a copy of everything onto your local site directory.
