Courseware: Prerequisites

Prerequisites

BU login name and kerberos password

If you don't already have a login name and password, you will be required to get one in order to use courseware.

Students and faculty can apply for a BU login name online.

Non-registered students and visiting faculty can apply for a guest account online.

Once you have completed the online form, you must present your current Terrier Card (BU ID) or other valid ID to confirm your application. There are three locations to complete this step. Please follow the instructions for your location in the list below:

Charles River Campus

Present your ID at Information Technology's Front Office (first floor) or Input/Output Services window (basement) of 111 Cummington Street.

Medical Campus

Present your BU ID at the Alumni Medical Library, which is located on the 12th floor of the Instructional "L" building. Ask to speak with Ron Tate (rtate@bu.edu). His phone is (617) 638-4576.

Tyngsboro Campus

Please see Kirsten Furman (kkfurman@bu.edu) to confirm your application. Her phone is (866) 649-8245.

Web browser

You must have a supported web browser to use our courseware products. For security and access concerns, we recommend that our users use Internet Explorer (version 6 SP2 or higher) or Mozilla Firefox (version 1.5 or higher). Macintosh OS/X users are advised to use Mozilla Firefox due to compatability issues with the Safari web browser and certain CourseInfo features. Your browser must have cookies and JavaScript enabled.

You cannot use the America Online browser with courseware, but you can use Internet Explorer or Mozilla Firefox via your AOL connection.

If you're not sure if cookies and JavaScript are enabled on your browser, or need help using your AOL connection with Internet Explorer or Mozilla Firefox, check the browser troubleshooting tips.

You can also consult our FAQs for troubleshooting tips.

If the above advice does not solve your problem, please contact us.

Note for Macintosh users:

The Chat feature in CourseInfo is not compatible with the Safari web browser on the Mac. Chat should work with Mozilla Firefox 1.5 and higher on the Mac.
