Communication Changes and Updates

Among the changes since CourseInfo 4...

Observer Role

Based on instructor controlled settings, an Observer can view the course work and course activities of a particular student.

Customize the Course Menu

Instructors have complete control of the architecture through which students access course information.

  • Easily create and name course navigation elements
  • Link from the Course Menu to any content item, URL or Blackboard tool
  • Option of text-based navigation in a range of colors (instead of button GIFs)

Chat and Virtual Classroom Improvements

This has been completely changed since CourseInfo 4. Whiteboard capability has been added to the chat function which allows the sharing of PowerPoint slides, as well as images.

Building Blocks

Support for extensions (plugins) for Blackboard was new in release 5 and has continued through the current version. These are sometimes self-contained widgets (e.g., "Browser Tester") but can be integration plugins (e.g. Wimba integration/powerlinks).
