Duplicating permission groups
Existing permission groups on your Contribute site can be duplicated.
This is often an easy way to create a new group that has very similar
permissions as an existing group on your site. You can duplicate
an existing permission group, rename it, and make minor modifications
to the permission settings to create an entirely new permission
group in a fraction of the time required to set up a new group
from scratch.
To duplicate a permissions group, access the Contribute site
administration panel.
- Highlight the existing group you wish to duplicate
- Click the "Duplicate" button
- Rename the permission group
Your new permission group will appear immediately in the list
of groups. You can now assign users to that group. You can also
highlight the new group name and edit the permissions to customize
your new group even further.
