Cut and Trim
Select the area of the wave you wish to remove. Note: As you become
more experienced working with audio clips, you'll be able to identify
segments of the file visually as well as, if not better than, aurally.
This is helpful when trying to precisely pinpoint the start and
stop point of a particular audio feature you wish to cut, such as
a lull or dead air time.
Select Edit | Cut from the menu. This removes the selected
data from the wave. Note that cutting doesn't leave an empty space
where the data was removed.
Trimming is the opposite of cutting. The selected area is preserved
while the rest of the file is deleted. It is similar to cropping
a digital image. Select Edit | Trim from the menu to trim
the wave.
