RACING CAMP

Female rowers and coxswains, ages 15-18 years, are invited to attend. Our focus will be on the elements of competitive racing. Rowers who are committed to working hard, eager to improve their technical and racing skills and who have maintained a good level of fitness, will gain the most from this experience. Coxswains who are interested in building leadership and confidence skills, as well as learning to steer the Head of the Charles course, are encourage to attend.

Practices will be divided in to one technique and one racing session per day. Guest rowers, coxswains and speakers will share their knowledge on and off the water. Clinics will be held through out the clinic discussing such areas as ergometer training, core strengthening, NCAA rules and other rowing related topics.

BEGINNER'S CAMP

High school girls ages 15-18 years, with no rowing experience are also invited to attend the camp. This is an excellent opportunity for an athlete looking for a new sport. Our focus will be on teaching basic sweep and sculling skills. The Beginner's Camp will run simultaneously to the Racing Camp, sharing the same facilities, housing and lectures, but with a separate staff and objectives. The beginners will participate in a fun race at the end of camp.

LOCATION

The camp will be held at the DeWolfe Boathouse at Boston University. One of the most magnificent boathouses in Boston, it was completed in October 1999. The state-of-the-art facility and equipment will be available for use during the camps. The boathouse is located directly across the river from the main campus.
Staff

Our experienced staff of coaches will be lead by Holly Hatton, Head Coach of Boston University Women's Crew. Holly has 26-years of Division I college coaching experience. During that time she was also a coach on five National Teams and two Olympic Teams. In 1999 and 2006 she was named the Northeast Regional College Coach of the Year. Competitively, Holly coxed on three National Teams and was the coxswain of the 1980 Olympic Eight.

Boston University assistant coaches, plus other prominent college coaches will be part of our staff. The coach to crew ration will be 1 to 1. Varsity rowers and coxswains will be included in our staff both as dorm councilors and technical assistants. They will be also be available to share their racing insight and experiences.
