Richard Frank, Newsroom editor
Richard Frank has been newsroom editor since the fall of 2000. He retired three years earlier from National Journal , the Washington-based policy and politics weekly, where he had been the editor and vice president for more than 20 years. Before that, he was the magazine's legal affairs and then international economics and trade reporter and associate editor (1971-75) and managing editor (1975-76). After receiving an undergraduate degree from Syracuse University in international relations and journalism and a master's from the University of Chicago in political science, he worked as a local government reporter for the Bergen Record in Hackensack, N.J., s tate and local government and political reporter for the Baltimore Evening Sun , chief administrative assistant to the mayor of Baltimore, state legislative correspondent and transportation reporter for the Philadelphia Bulletin and Washington correspondent for the Bulletin. He has two grown sons and two grandsons and lives in Bethesda, Maryland.
