T.J. Kirkpatrick, a senior photojournalism major, is the only photographer in this semester of the Washington Journalism Program. As well as interning at Cox Newspapers' Washington Bureau, he is the BU Washington News Service photographer, serving ten New England newspapers, including The New London Day, The Bangor Daily News, The Cape Cod Times, and The Worcester Telegram. He has interned at the Harvard News Office, and was a staff photographer for Boston University's Daily Free Press.
Having grown up on the California coast, T.J. eventually wants to work at a newspaper somewhere on the U.S. western coast, though if he ever does he will miss the real seasons of the northeast.
T.J. enjoys a wide range of literature and music, particularly when it involves visual storytelling. He also spends as much time as possible (which is considerably little) on his self-built and custom-painted fixed gear bicycle.
