Brittany Lawonn, a junior print journalism major at Boston University, joins the B.U. Washington News Service as a Washington correspondent for The Cape Cod Times and The New Bedford Standard Times, both in Massachusetts. She is also interning with Ohio's Columbus Dispatch.
A native of Fargo, North Dakota, she spent the summer interning at The Forum, the largest daily in the region covering North Dakota and parts of Minnesota. In the fall of 2004, Brittany was the news editor of The Daily Free Press, the independent student newspaper at Boston University. She also served as editorial page editor in the spring of 2004 and has been a staff member since her freshman year.
Brittany will graduate next May and hopes to work as a political reporter at a state or national level.
