WASHINGTON-A $100,000 grant announced today by the U.S.
Environmental Protection Agency is targeted for cleaning
up petroleum leaking from abandoned underground tanks
in Nashua and several other New Hampshire towns.

Homeless to receive $2.39 million Grant to Subsidize
rent
WASHINGTON- Many mentally or physically disabled homeless
families and individuals from greater Nashua will soon
have housing assistance thanks to a $2.39 million federal
grant, announced by Rep. Charles Bass, (R-2nd District),
Wednesday. Currently, there are 200 families or individuals
on the waiting list for housing assistance from the
Nashua-based non-profit social service organization,
Harbor Home Inc.

Appropriations bill ensures over 3 million for NH public
Housing
WASHINGTON- The Nashua Housing Authority (NHA) will
receive over a million for "modernization and management
improvement s of public housing agencies," and more
then $100,000 for the Public Housing Drug Elimination
Program (PHDEP), grants from Housing and Urban Development,
(HUD) according to Senator Judd Gregg's office.

WASHINGTON-New Hampshire's two Republican senators split
their votes yesterday (Thursday) on a measure that would
provide over $7 million for New Hampshire forest and
environmental conservation projects.

Sununu seeks House Budget Committee Chairmanship
WASHINGTON-U.S. Republican House Rep. John Sununu, heading
into his third term as representing New Hampshire's
1st District, is seeking to chair the House Budget Committee
after four years as a member. The Budget Committee oversees
the Congressional budget process and annual budget resolution.

Visa Bill passes through Senate
WASHINGTON- Both of New Hampshire's senators voted Tuesday
in favor of a measure to raise the cap on high tech
worker visas to 195,000 annually for the next three
years.
