Washington Center Grad Wins Pulitzer Prize

Meredith Warren, a 2001 graduate of the Washington Journalism Center, was on the 2003 Pulitzer Prize-winning team at The Eagle-Tribune newspaper in North Andover, Mass. that won a Pulitzer for breaking news reporting.
The Pulitzer award cited the newspaper's "detailed, well-crafted stories on the accidental drowning of four boys in the Merrimack River" last year.
The Pulitzer team at The Eagle-Tribune was led by Bill Ketter, the paper's editor and the former chairman of the Boston University journalism department.

Former Student Wins SPJ Award |

Marty Toohey who was in the Fall 2002 semester has won third prize in the newspaper in-depth reporting category for the national SPJ student competition for a story on violence in video games that he wrote while here in Washington. Marty is now working at the Island Packet newspaper in South Carolina.
