Steve Peoples currently covers general assignment news for The Providence Journal. Shortly after leaving the Washington Journalism Center, he was hired as a two-year intern at the 160,000-circulation daily based in Rhode Island's capital city. He was promoted to a regular staff writer position in June 2005.
