Ms. Johnson serves as Operations Manager of WARA and is based at the US headquarters at Boston University. Before coming to WARA, she was a personal accounting administrator for Ayco, a Goldman Sachs company. She also served in the Peace Corps in West Africa as a Community Economic Development agent. There, she specialized in project management for local entrepreneurial endeavors and scholarship administration for young female students. Her other experience includes facilitating fellowships at the Fulbright Commission of Belgium and coordinating social services for refugee, asylee, and immigrant clients at the International Institute of New England. She earned her B.A. in Economics at Stonehill College in 2013. Caroline is fluent in French and Malinke.
Dr. Sène is an associate professor of Literature (African and African-American) in the Department of English, Université Cheikh Anta Diop, Dakar, Senegal. He chaired the department from 1988 to 1998. He is an alumnus of Université Cheikh Anta Diop where he earned his B.A. and M.A. in English before going to Paris for a Ph.D. in Commonwealth Literatures at Ecole Normale Supérieure de Saint Cloud and Université de la Sorbonne Nouvelle, Paris III. He has been serving in the Department of English of Université Cheikh Anta Diop since his return from Paris in 1983. Sène is a frequent visitor to the United States, primarily for teaching and research purposes. Read more
