Alumni Reunion Conference

ral African Republic, Cameroon, Ethiopia, Togo: these are the home countries of the 45 young African leaders who met at WARC for their Alumni Reunion Conference on September 18.
The event, funded by the US State Department and implemented by the Meridian International Center in Washington, DC, was an opportunity for these young leaders to interact among themselves and to hear addresses by specialists on various topics, including
- Taking Responsibility and Taking Risks
- Financial Management
- SME Toolkits and Access to Capital
- Expanding Networks and Mentoring the Next Generation of Leaders
- Creating Partnerships
The YALI group was joined by around 25 young Senegalese leaders such as the Yen A Marre activists, all of whom rallied at WARC Wednesday afternoon for a plenary session on leadership introduced and moderated by the Director of the Center. Very lively exchanges and contributions were made during the session which was concluded by a reception at the Center.

oped that those young leaders will go back home better equipped to confront the daunting tasks of development, and also as active contacts and friends of the West African Research Center in their respective countries.
