Dr. Norman C. Hursh
Dr. Hursh is an Associate Professor in the Department of Rehabilitation Counseling of the Sargent College of Health and Rehabilitation Sciences at Boston University since 1978. At Boston University, he directs the Graduate Specialization in Industrial Rehabilitation and Disability Management and the Graduate Specialization in Vocational Evaluation. Dr. Hursh is also the Director of Vocational Rehabilitation Services of the Sargent Clinic at Boston University, a free standing rehabilitation clinic that provides evaluation, return-to-work planning, and rehabilitation services and consultation to workers and employers. Dr. Hursh is a Certified Rehabilitation Counselor, a Certified Vocational Evaluator, a licensed rehabilitation psychologist, and a licensed rehabilitation counselor. Dr. Hursh has consulted and provided training to employers, unions,
insurance companies, health care providers and governments across the
United States, Canada, and New Zealand. Dr. Hursh has been appointed as a Commissioner on the Certified Disability Management Specialists Commission. He has conducted research and development projects to evaluate the direct impact of Disability Management program graduates on the costs of disability management programs and the productivity of workers returning to work. Dr. Hursh has published extensively in areas of vocational evaluation,
job accommodation, and return-to-work for individuals with severe and
multiple impairments. He serves on the editorial board of Work, and
