Summer visits at the USC
We are so happy to welcome our 2017-2018 first gen Terriers, incoming students for September 2017 and January 2018 who are the first, or among the very first generation, in their families to attend college.
The USC is a terrific resource for all students with questions and concerns, and our office is happy to serve as the home base for First Gen Connect. Many of the faculty and staff affiliated with First Gen Connect are BU alums or the first in our own families to attend college, and we are eager to share with you our love of all things BU!
We hope you’ll take advantage of the opportunity to visit the USC when you are on campus for Orientation over the summer. Stop by to say hello, meet the USC staff and some fellow first-gen Terriers, and learn more about First Gen Connect programming for the year. We’ll share our plans for annual activities, like our fall and spring welcome socials and end of the semester study breaks, and want to hear your thoughts on other events and activities you’d like to see. And of course, we’ll try to rope you into volunteering with First Gen Connect too.
We’ll have more details in mid-May about special summer office visit hours just for our incoming first gen Terriers and their families. Be on the lookout for our welcome email, and check back on this page in mid-May. You can also like our Facebook page to stay informed about programs and events.
We hope you can visit us this summer, but if you aren’t able to make it, don’t worry–you’ll be receiving our newsletter and invitations to our academic year events soon!
