Basic and Applied Research on Respiratory Drug Delivery

This project involves fundamental studies on the formulation and delivery of medical aerosol used for treating diseases like asthma, cystic fibrosis, emphysema, diabetes, and pulmonary arterial hypertension. The research work will be on (1) particle engineering related to respiratory drug delivery, (2) device development for delivering aerosolized powder via inhalation, and (3) testing of the drug delivery system under simulated inhalation process and evaluation of the efficiency of drug delivery to the targeted areas of the lung.
