Prospective Participants

Students who are interested in becoming involved with a research project should contact the professor directly. Once you and the professor decide that you would like to work together, you have several options. Research projects may be done on a volunteer basis or for academic credit. If you are not doing the research for academic credit, you can be paid for your research effort. If so, the work may be funded entirely by the mentor, or arranged as a work-study position. If none of those options is available, on a competitive basis, UROP provides research grants each semester and during the summer.

Funding Eligibility

Any undergraduate student who is enrolled full-time at Boston University is eligible to apply for UROP funding. All proposed projects must be conducted under the supervision of a BU faculty member. A student may not simultaneously receive both academic credit and a UROP stipend award for their research.
