Dr. Sabino and Dr. Cottone are co-directors of the Laboratory of Addictive Disorders, which is currently exploring the role of several neurochemical systems in excessive food intake and alcohol drinking. Animal models are utilized in order to identify compounds for potential clinical development. Students will play a key role in projects by assisting in animal handling, training of animals in operant conditioning procedures and drug testing.
We are looking for students to help us with the lab’s many projects. Students should commit to at least 15 hours per week during the academic year. Availability during at least one of the weekend days is required. Due to the extensive training process, we require a minimum commitment of two semesters (UROP potential after completion of one semester).
