Overview

The long-term goal of the research in my lab is focusing on developing new therapeutic strategies to lower intraocular pressure in glaucoma, a leading cause of blindness worldwide. Our current research focuses on hydrodynamic and morphological differences in the aqueous outflow pathways between normal and glaucomatous eyes in human and different animal models. We also investigate the changes of the inner wall endothelial cells of Schlemm’s canal using serial block-face scanning electron microscopy and 3D reconstruction in normal, drug-treated normal eyes, and glaucomatous eyes. We are looking for sophomore and junior students that will have minimally two half days available and 12 hours per week working in the lab.

Contact Dr. Gong at hgong@bu.edu with your CV and your sophomore or junior class schedule.
