Step 1: Defining Your Research Interests

The first thing you need to do is to decide on what areas or areas you would like to do research in. Make a list of topics that you might be interested in researching. The more specific you are able to make your list, the easier it will be to proceed to the next step. In making your list, consider topics that you enjoyed in courses you've taken or that you have a personal interest in. Undergraduate research projects can be done in any academic field at Boston University. You are not limited to doing research within your major. To see samples of what other students have done in the past, check out the UROP Featured Researchers.
